 Post subject: Upper and Lower limits in SR1212

Hello,

I have an SR1212 that I am controlling via RS232 with a Crestron control system. I have the upper and lower limits set on my faders but the Crestron volume ramping will exceed these limits. Should this happen or I am not correctly setting up the limits in the 1212.

I haven't done it on the 1212 but on other units it sometimes works and sometimes doesn't
a sure fire way is using an analog increment with limits, an analog equate, analog scaler to get the feedback to "look" right on the volume gauge and an SIO for the serial values.

I forgot to mention that I am using Crestron's module ClearOne Converge(multiple Units) Single Channel Volume Control v1.4. Would what you suggest work by modifying that module?

You could certainly write your own module.
What I am suggesting is a way around the Crestron module not
responding to the limits you are setting in Clearone.
Since with the increment you are assigning the values.
If someone demands I control a mic I'll give them 6db of swing
make my upper level 7d lower and mute 0d, increment value of 1d
Calling analog mic_val_ prescale
Expand the equate as needed for the values. Then call the outs.
Mic_val_-4, thru Mic_val+2.
SIO #C0 Gain 1 M -4 A\x0D etc.
To a scaler to turn your 7d of swing to your 65535 Ramp Value.
Just how I do it. Not very elegant but sure works good.
