Job Description:

Quality Manager

The Quality Manager will develop, implement and oversee ClearOne Quality Management System QMS comprising of key processes such as post sale product quality, contract manufacturing, logistics, receiving, inspection, pack out and outbound shipping. The Quality Manager will drive all QMS initiatives.  The position will share accountability for ensuring ClearOne’s products and services meet customer requirements and expectations for quality, and for delivering business results through the Six Sigma improvement methodology. 

Reports to:  Director of Operations

Job Functions:

  • Work with senior management to understand business needs, ensure effective quality planning, formulate and implement quality policy, objectives and strategy and coordinate deployment of quality improvement as a functional element of a comprehensive quality program leading to ISO 9000: 2000 certifications.
  • Act as a change agent to transform the organization to a Six Sigma culture and facilitate the deployment of Six Sigma quality improvement in accordance with industry best practices. 
  • As appropriate, provide training in the methodologies, tools and applications of industry best practice in the quality management. 
  • Lead key quality initiatives and improvement projects.
  • Work with department managers and direct and supervise quality support staff to plan and implement effective quality control methods for product and service performance, ensure appropriate data collection, analysis and procedures for corrective action.
  • Identify and implement upgrades and improvements to the design and deployment of the Quality Information Systems.
  • Provide guidance in the design or specification of inspection and testing mechanisms and equipment; ensure appropriate measurement system analysis. 
  • Direct the design, installation and evaluation of quality assurance systems, procedures and statistical techniques, including supplier quality assurance.

Education and Experience:

The minimum requirement is a Bachelor’s degree in Quality Management, Engineering, Mathematics, Finance or Business. Master’s in Quality Management or Statistics is a plus.  5+ years progressive experience in quality with demonstrated experience in the application of Six Sigma and ISO 9000 including DFSS in a high technology manufacturing environment is required. ASQ CQE, CQMgr, CRE and SSBB credentials also desirable.

  • Highly developed supervisory and management skills related to directly managing personnel.
  • High analytical and technical skills related to the quality discipline.
  • Excellent project management skills and demonstrated ability to work with senior management on large scale organization change and produce positive business results.
  • Ability to deliver presentations and training to all levels of the organization.
  • Creative problem-solving skills, hands-on approach, computer literate.
  • Experience with ERP systems desirable.
