It’s a wrap on another successful InfoComm. It was great to meet so many customers and talk about ClearOne’s exciting new audiovisual products. Every company wants to simplify and improve collaboration and these products were designed to do exactly that.
Two ClearOne solutions received the AV Technology Best of Show Award: the new team collaboration solution, COLLABORATE® Space, and the cost-effective VIEW Lite AV over IP streaming solution.
Here’s some of what booth visitors had to say about these and other ClearOne product debuts:
AV Solutions that Simplify Connection and Collaboration
Ceiling Microphone Array Dante™
The best-selling Ceiling Microphone Array Analog got even better with the addition of a built-in Dante digital audio network interface. In addition to this unique Dante compatibility, users also liked the mic’s mute feature, the capability to daisy-chain up to four ceiling mic arrays, and the ability to bundle three microphones for full 360-degree audio coverage. This new ceiling microphone array is compatible with ClearOne and third-party Dante DSP mixers as well.
For the integrators and systems engineers, the most popular feature of the new CONVERGE Huddle conferencing solution was its ease of use. The solution is pre-programmed to work right out of the box, and installers make just a couple of physical connections. It is also a true BYOD solution, with the ability to connect to laptops, tablets, and smartphones with a single cable. Bluetooth connectivity will be available by the end of the year.
The award-winning COLLABORATE® Space combines multiple team tools in one place, including video conferencing, whiteboarding, real-time chat, and the ability to leave people messages when they are offline. COLLABORATE® Space also stores notes, recordings and chats related to the same task in a centralized place that can be made public or private. And, unlike other team collaboration tools on the market, it saves old conversations. The amount of information users need to keep track of is growing, and COLLABORATE® Space makes it manageable, searchable, and scalable. COLLABORATE® Space is the ideal solution for versatile meeting spaces as it can accommodate large meetings as well as one-on-one collaboration.

The saying, “the best-laid plans of mice and men often go awry,” rings true for anyone who has ever carefully planned a project only to have last-minute requests or changing requirements threaten to derail it. Take the recent FCC changes that limit the use of certain frequencies in North America, for example. These new rules mean that by 2020, the 614-698 MHz range will no longer be available to wireless microphones.
More Flexibility to Meet Wireless Requirements
Adapting to these types of changes while designing user-friendly and affordable collaboration spaces requires flexibility and choice. That’s why ClearOne is introducing the WS800 M550 Wireless Microphone System at InfoComm along with six additional solutions and a major software update.
The WS800 Wireless Microphone system includes tabletop, gooseneck, hand-held and belt-pack lavalier models of wireless microphones/transmitters and a base-station receiver with either 4 or 8 channels. With the addition of the new M550 model, the WS800 is now offered in eight frequency ranges, giving you mic options for any project need.
More Choice for Dante™ Installations
The only thing better than a ClearOne mic might be a ClearOne mic that is Dante-enabled. Giving your customers the benefit of Dante digital media networking technology no longer requires a tradeoff for mic selection or quality.
Like the other mics in the WS800 Wireless Microphone system, the new WS800 550 mic will also be available with built-in Dante technology that interoperates with other Dante devices from any supplier, including ClearOne’s CONVERGE Pro 2 and CONVERGE Matrix.
We will also debut a Dante version of our ceiling microphone array at InfoComm 2018, giving you more choice when your Dante design calls for a mic with unbeatable sound and unobtrusive placement. Like the Ceiling Microphone Array and Ceiling Microphone Array Analog-X, the new Ceiling Microphone Array Digital-Dante will include three wide-range microphones that are mounted together into a single unit array to provide the rich sound of three individual unidirectional microphones while maintaining full 360-degree coverage.
The Ceiling Microphone Array Digital-Dante works with any Dante-enabled DSP mixer and complements ClearOne’s CONVERGE Pro 2 DSP mixers.

ClearOne Announces New CONNECT Dante Network Bridge for Scalable Pro Audio Solutions at InfoComm 2014
ClearOne Announces New CONNECT® Dante™ Network Bridge for Scalable Pro Audio Solutions at INFOCOMM 2014
ClearOne to feature seamless compatibility in Dante network audio bridging with CONVERGE® product line, Booth #N1827
SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH — May 28, 2014
Continuing its innovation in the Professional Audio market, ClearOne (NASDAQ: CLRO) introduces the CONNECT Dante network bridge for simple and scalable audio networking with no need to change existing hardware. The modular audio networking approach uses CONNECT network audio bridges with ClearOne’s flagship family of CONVERGE Pro & SR products, allowing users to easily build a scalable system over time.
“This new unit provides system integrators with a Dante digital transport for audio systems. While CONVERGE already supports CobraNet®, the addition of Dante gives customers the flexibility of choosing the appropriate bridge based on their requirements,” said Durai Ramachandiran, ClearOne’s Senior Director of Product Line Management for Pro Voice and AV Distribution. “Ideal for enterprise applications, hospitality projects, and higher education, CONNECT Dante expands the reach of CONVERGE products for more varied audio distribution projects.”
ClearOne’s CONNECT Dante bridge provides the compact form factor and ease-of-use necessary to create a scalable audio network, compatible with existing hardware. A simple firmware upgrade will allow CONVERGE products to fully integrate with Dante-enabled network bridges, microphones, and amplifiers. The robust, highly-interoperable Dante solution provides a no-hassle, self-configuring, true plug-and-play digital audio network using standard Internet Protocols on existing infrastructure—without requiring a dedicated network. Some of the largest live events and sophisticated installations worldwide use this technology, which is based on global networking standards, making signal distribution more cost-effective and user-friendly.
“Audinate’s primary goal of revolutionizing the connection of AV systems is fully realized with the introduction of Dante technology,” said Ervin Grinberg, Director of Marketing for Audinate. “Dante makes it simple to create a digital media network, while meeting the performance standards professional installers require. We’re excited to work with ClearOne in providing this breakthrough technology solution to the Pro Audio market.”
CONNECT Dante will be on display at InfoComm 2014, ClearOne Booth #N1827. The product is targeted to ship in June 2014.
